Carbon footprint
Climate Neutral Group calculates carbon footprints for companies and private individuals. The calculation is usually made using the calculator on our website. In certain cases, a Climate Neutral Group specialist will provide assistance in this stocktaking exercise. For an example of our own carbon footprint, see
here.
Internationally recognised values
To calculate the footprint, Climate Neutral Group primarily uses figures from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). These values are recognised internationally and are widely used. For some more-specific factors we use other sources, including data from the World Resources Institute and the Dutch organisation Milieucentraal. Feel free to contact us at any time if you wish to know more about the sources we use to make our carbon footprint calculations.
Average values
The emission values that we apply are averages. When calculating the emissions of your air travel, for example, we base our calculations on an 'average' aircraft with average occupancy. These figures may deviate from a specific case, but overall will give a realistic outcome. Using these values makes it possible to give every individual and organisation a quick insight into their carbon footprint.
